ALL ATTACKS:
What is Art Fight? How does it work?
For every repeat attack or counterattack you make for a specific target throughout the competition, there will be a % reduction to your net score based on what # attack it is:
- This is to encourage people to hit more targets, and also to be strategic with their first attacks on a person.
- Final score = Net score * (4-n)/3, where n is the # of times you attacked this specific person
- The rectification is graded based on the individual level, not team level (IE: Two separate people can attack one target and get 100% points; however, one person who attacks a person with two separate attacks will get 100% of the points for the first one, but 2/3rd (66%) of the points for the second one, etc.)
Counterattack Bonus
+2 point to your FINAL score for responding to another player’s attack on you
- This is to encourage people to “complete” the art attack exchange.
- This bonus does not apply to Friendly Fire pieces.
Flag Bearer
We will be keeping track of the ratio of attacks sent vs attacks received for every participant. Those with the highest ratio of attacks sent vs attacks received in addition to other deciding factors will be put on our Flag Bearer target board, in which if you attack them, you will get +5 points to your FINAL score!
- The attacks made vs attacks received ratio is a guide and heavy influence for who will be deemed the flag bearer for the week but is not the only deciding factor. The final decision will be at moderator discretion.
- This is to encourage people to attack very active and present individuals who haven’t been attacked much in the competition.
- This bonus only applies once, (IE if you draw them twice only your first attack will be +5).
- You cannot do both a counterattack and a Flag Bearer in the same attack. You can, however, make two pieces: one that is a counterattack, and one that is a Flag Bearer attack.
Point Cap
Every attack will be capped at 30 pts.
- This is to minimize conflicts with point farming via some large group pieces with tons of background characters of whom resemble no NPCs nor participants.

SEQUENTIAL ART (comics and/or animation, can be 2D or 3D)
These will be graded on a case-by-case basis – but here are some things we look for:
- Number of different key panels/key poses
- Complexity of panels/key poses/rigs/skin weighting
- Depth of storytelling/secondary actions
- Cinematography choices
- We will also apply any of the above categories, wherever applicable
Example: Animating an imported model vs Animating your own model
WRITTEN PIECES AND MUSIC (fanfics, poetry, lyrics to a song, original composition, etc.)
1 pt for every 300 words (fics)
- Breaking a story into sections to bypass the 30 point cap will no longer count as it is deemed against the spirit of art fight – keep the fics one story.
- Crack-fics will be graded for 10% of the Net total in addition to the Rectification calculation
Poetry and Lyrics will be graded on a case by case basis but things we will look for:
- Number of stanzas
- Utilization of Rhymes and Meter
- Clever use of symbolism or word play
- Other notable literary devices
Music will be graded on a case by case basis but things we will look for:
- Length of composition
- Arrangement and complexity of instruments
- Selection of instruments and song style (for example: purposely choosing to compose a shanty for a character whose backstory is nautical)
- Anything else the musician thinks we should note
