A young druid initiate and aspiring adventurer currently apprenticed to Oswin. Verdix is obsessed with knights (much to his masters dismay) and likes to think of himself as a squire. Verdix can’t wait to leave his mark on the world.. but still has an awful lot to learn.
Verdix takes after his father and has distinctly asgarnian looking dark hair and cold blue eyes. He has a bit more growing to do but Oswin still towers over him and likely always will.
Eager, optimistic and kind with a real thoughtful side. Despite his insistence at seeing the outside world and getting involved he still loves home and is a druid through and through.
Verdix is still getting the hang of magic and tends to default to melee combat. His favorite is the dragon sword but Oswin often lends him hand me down gear that’s appropriate for the current situation.
Oswin: Mentor and friend, he spends more time with oswin than anyone else and is extremely close to her. Verdix has always looked up to Oswin and would always pester her for tales of her adventures as a kid when she’d stop by Taverley. Even after becoming her apprentice and being confronted with some of her more frustrating eccentricities he still trusts her implicitly and believes she is a true hero. Verdix has a stronger sense of justice than oswin so his presence tends to pressure her into being more traditionally heroic, but oswin also rubs off on him and makes him more flexible and willing to do minor “bad” if they will help in the big picture. He thinks she’s actually a force for balance despite not actually trying to follow Guthix. As he grows up Verdix is more likely to stand his ground and argue with her, which Oswin actually appreciates and encourages. Despite this he remains deeply loyal and will even cover for Oswin when she’s hiding things from other druids or Crux Eqal.
Kaqemeex: While Oswin is officially Verdix’ mentor, her relative newness to the circle and non-traditional lifestyle led to the druids assigning Kaqemeex to oversee Verdix’ training. While Verdix is honored to have such a high ranking druid looking after him it is an unusual situation and there can be a bit of tension between his mentors. Kaqemeex is an excellent spiritual mentor with a deep understanding of the more traditional aspects of druidic life but Verdix finds him a bit long winded and indirect compared to Oswin.
Thaerisk: Seeing just how much Oswin defers to Thaerisk has made Verdix curious about the old druid. He seems suspiciously ordinary for a former adventurer and Oswin's dad. While in Taverley, Thaerisk has a knack for showing up at convenient times to offer advice or assistance but also tends to ask for some weird favors. Verdix likes him well enough and finds him refreshing but is sure there’s something more to him than meets the eye.. or perhaps he’s just a bit strange like his mentor.
Katstix: Verdix’ mom. She’s a bit aloof and often has her head in the clouds but is supportive of verdix and his dreams.
Born and raised in Taverley. Verdix loves home but was always a bit more wild spirited than the other druid children. He was apprenticed to Oswin at 12 and gradually tagged along for more and more adventures as he got older. During While Guthix sleeps Verdix inadvertently learns about crux eqal and while he is too young to join he now wants to prove himself more than ever. He is currently doing the Varlamore quest series while Oswin challenges the colosseum.
